Documents primarily found in excavation of historic site of Black community in Weeksville section of Brooklyn. Items include constitution and bylaws of Abyssinian Benevolent Daughters of Esther Association of the City of New York, 1853; political and commercial handbills from the 19th century; announcement of minstral show benefit for Holy Rosary Church, 1915; program for event at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church from the late 1930's; cancelled checks, 1951-1958, and correspondence, 1954-1957, of former businesses and residents of the area; and stereo views of German, Russian, and allied armies during World War I.
